ISTD launches “My Invoices” " Fawateery " application on the mobile phone to enhance the culture of invoice request

The Income and Sales Tax Department called on all citizens to download the “My Invoices” application on their mobile phones, which was launched by the Department for the purpose of promoting the culture of requesting the invoice and obtaining it from the authorities obligated to issue it when purchasing goods or receiving services in exchange for the allowance.

The department clarified that smartphone users can download the application to their phones by using the word “My Invoices” or “Fawateery” in Google Play or Apple App Store. After downloading the application, the user registers on the application by entering the national number and date of birth.

After downloading the application on their phones, people can download invoices related to goods or services by photographing them directly from the phone’s camera, or uploading them to the application from the phone Gallery, provided that these invoices are clear and complete conditions, and their value is not less than A Jordanian dinar and to be carried.

The department indicated that the Fawateery application came with the aim of applying the principles of prizes and incentives to the invoices approved by the Council of Ministers so that those wishing to participate in the competition to obtain prizes provided by the Income and Sales Tax Department for those committed to purchasing goods and obtaining services under bills can download these bills on the application in an easy and fast manner.

The prizes will include cars, financial values, assets and devices such as telephones, electrical and electronic devices, etc., or the value of the submitted invoice, or a percentage of its value, or the value of the tax paid on this invoice, or a percentage of it, or a subscription to services for a specific period, which will be announced on the department’s websites.

The department will periodically withdraw prizes on invoices that complete the conditions submitted to the department through this application and announce the names of the winners on the department's website.

The department also made it possible for users of the application who wish to report any cases of non-compliance with issuing the invoice from the obligated authorities to issue it upon request through the option available to them on the application.

It is noteworthy that the Council of Ministers had approved the basis for granting incentives and prizes on bills to encourage citizens and those charged with requesting and obtaining bills for every purchase of a commodity or the payment of any allowance in exchange for receiving a service, which contributes to encouraging the application of the billing system.

The department clarified that the sellers of goods whose sales exceed 75,000 dinars annually, and all service providers, professionals and craftsmen, whose revenues exceed 30,000 dinars annually, are obligated to issue an invoice according to the billing affairs regulation system.

According to the text of Paragraph (a) of Article 5 of the Regulation of Billing Affairs No. 34 of 2019 it must be ensured that the invoice, upon receipt, contains the following data: The invoice serial number. Seller's full name and address. The seller's tax number if he is registered with the sales tax and the national number if he is not registered with the sales tax. The date of organizing and issuing the invoice. An indication of the type, quantity and value of the sold commodity or service, and the total value of the invoice.

The Income and Sales Tax Department indicated that there are entities that are not obligated to issue the invoice, as they are excluded from organizing and issuing the invoice according to the provisions of the regulation of billing affairs and control over them and the instructions issued according to which the licensed establishments and businesses whose annual sales are less than (75) thousand dinars, which are groceries (mini-market, Or supermarket, or shop), bookstores and stationery stores, stores selling vegetables and fruits, stores selling household items, bakeries, popular restaurants, household chores, dairy stores, sewing tools stores, and crafts licensed in any of the governorates of the Kingdom according to the legislation in force. In those whose annual revenues are less than (30) thousand dinars, as well as bakeries that sell bread only and whose annual sales are less than 150,000 dinars.

Incentives and prizes on invoices are limited to natural persons only, and do not include companies and establishments, as it is available for them to use the invoice as a tax-acceptable expense. Income and Sales Tax Department employees and their spouses and relatives have been excluded until the first degree of participation in obtaining prizes and incentives.
