Dr. Hussam Abu Ali announced that the Department had, since the beginning of this year, disbursed and transferred income and sales tax refunds to about 65,000 taxpayers, with a total value of about 85.5 million dinars, of which 53 million were disbursedin cash and 32.5 million dinars were set-off.

He explained that during the current month the Department has disbursed tax refunds to more than 14,000 taxpayers from the income and sales taxpayers.

Dr. Hussam Abu Ali said that all the refunds that were disbursed during the current year were delivered to the beneficiaries electronically by transferring them to the IBAN numbers of their bank accounts, according to the role and the approved basis for disbursement.

He indicated that the department has also conducted a set-off between income and sales tax and any refunds to which instructions, procedures, mechanisms and principles for conducting the set-off action No. (1) for the year of 2017 issued in accordance with the provisions of the General Budget Law, issued regarding the balances owed by the taxpayer from the amounts accrued to them, as the financial set-off procedures enabled the taxpayers from companies and individuals to pay their financial receivables through the amounts owed to them instead of accumulating legal fines on them .
