The national e-invoicing system is a quantum leap in tax reforms

26/12/2022

Director General of the ISTD, Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, said that the application of the Jordanian e-invoicing system is a quantum leap in the tax reforms being implemented in the Kingdom.

Director General explained during the dialogue workshop held by the department in cooperation with the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants at the Amman Chamber of Industry that the national e-invoicing system is flexible and capable of accommodating and joining all taxpayers from various sectors. It is also characterized by ease of use, high security, data protection and maintains its confidentiality.

Abu Ali pointed out that the national e-invoicing system will unify the foundations and elements of invoices for all taxpayers and will not impose any costs or material burdens on the groups obligated to issue the invoice.

Dr. Hussam Abu Ali called on taxpayers to quickly join the Jordanian national electronic e-invoicing system, especially since Jordan is considered a model in tax compliance.

He explained that the department has allocated several work teams to assist, guide and educate taxpayers on how to connect to the e-invoicing system and use one of the platforms that suits each taxpayer.

The Director General of the ISTD gave a detailed presentation about the system and answered the inquiries of members of the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Hussam Rahhal, President of the Jordanian Association of Certified Public Accountants, welcomed at the beginning of the meeting the Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department and praised the partnership between the Department and the Association for the interest of taxpayers and members.
