Dr. Husam Abu Ali The Director-General of the ISTD said that the department does not have the authority to impose any new taxes, but rather is committed to applying the law and doing its role in educating the taxpayers, guiding them and educating them taxes. 

Abu Ali, during his meeting with a group of influencers on social media and youTubers, explained that Article 3 of Law No. 34 of 2014 provides that the subjection of any income that comes in the Kingdom to any person or earns it subject to tax, regardless of the place of fulfillment.

He added that the department was keen to invite the influencers for the purposes of tax educating them and awareness them tax, especially since their activity become known and their information is monitored, so, it was necessary to educate those who practice this service activity with the exemptions they may get and the expenses that they can be deducted.

 And he indicated that the department did not impose any new tax, but rather through an analysis and monitoring of information related to their activity, it showed that there are incomes that exceed the limit of exemptions, which imposed the need for filling tax declarations.

He said that the department has assigned a team of its employees to help them settle their legal conditions by submitting the tax declarations for their incomes into their various activities and paying the taxes arising from them.

During the meeting, they were oriented of the way to estimate their incomes and calculate their expenses they paid in order to generate  their incomes and deduct their expenses, as well as they were  their real incomes and announce them in their self –assessment system without any interference from the department.

The Director General of the ISTD said during the meeting that any role and contributions play by influencers for any purposes that serve the country and the transfer of image and positive situations are welcome and encourage the department to carry out and support them and any influencers and contributions from influencers that are provided to the ministries and various government agencies During the meeting Without any allowance that will be accepted from the department.
