During his visit to the ISTD Al-Khasawneh stresses the need to continue developing the services of the Income Tax Department

Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh visited the ISTD as part of his series of field tours and inspection visits to government institutions.

During the visit, during which he was accompanied by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Muhammad Al-Ississ, the Prime Minister stressed the need to commit to providing the best, best and accurate service to citizens and investors, and to facilitate and simplify procedures, especially in the departments that provide the most services to citizens, in a way that translates the steps included in the document to modernize the public sector in this context.

During his visit to the ISTD, the Prime Minister stressed the department's primary role in achieving many of the goals that helped Jordan make the six reviews with the International Monetary Fund a success by presenting a successful model in dealing with the government's commitments to structural reform programs and combating tax evasion and avoidance.

Al-Khasawneh pointed out that the prudent financial management of the Ministry of Finance, the prudent monetary policy followed by the Central Bank of Jordan, and the fight against tax evasion and avoidance are the three elements of the long-term financing programs with the International Monetary Fund, which govern the evaluation model of practical success in these reviews or not.

Al-Khasawneh emphasized that we succeeded in maintaining financial and monetary stability as a result of the prudent policy of the Ministry of Finance, which avoided raising the tax burden on the citizen through a package of measures, the most important of which are: focusing on combating tax evasion and avoidance, in addition to prudent policy and the independence of the Central Bank, backed by unprecedented strategic reserves of foreign currencies.

He added that this government was able to achieve successes and was able to spare our country the evils of going towards catastrophic results of unwise policies that enabled us to avoid uncontrolled inflation and mitigate the negative repercussions on the national economy, stressing the continuation of following prudent financial policies that always protect the monetary, financial and banking space.

Director General of the ISTD, Husam Abu Ali, gave a briefing on the most important tax reforms and achievements made by the department during the last period.

Abu Ali reviewed the most prominent institutional reforms that took place in the tax system in Jordan in accordance with international standard conditions, stressing that the department focuses on the professional practices and transparency of its inspection cadres in its tours of the facilities through full video and audio recording of its visits to these facilities.
