The Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department, Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, decided to extend the deadline for submitting the original audited financial statements of companies for the fiscal year 2023 until next May 30, to enable auditors and tax experts to complete all the procedures required to submit them. Income and Sales Tax Department confirmed that the deadline for submitting tax returns and preliminary financial statements remained as is legally at the end of April 30, as it called on taxpayers who are obligated to submit income tax returns for the fiscal year 2023 to submit them and pay the amounts announced therein electronically before the end of April 30. It also called on taxpayers to submit their income tax returns to the department, along with the preliminary financial statements, before the end of the legal period at the end of next Tuesday, April 30, in order to avoid being exposed to the fines stipulated by the law, which include an added tax for not submitting a tax return, as well as a fine of 4 per thousand of the value of the tax amounts.
