The Settlement and Reconciliation Committee continues to receive requests from taxpayers

The Income and Sales Tax Department called on the taxpayers who have pending income and sales tax cases and want to settle them to submit their requests to the Settlement and Reconciliation Committee, to study and settle the pending cases between taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department.

The department said in a press statement today, Tuesday, that the Council of Ministers decided to give delegation to the Settlement and Reconciliation Committee to exempt the taxpayers who submit their requests to the committee from fines by 100 percent if their requests are submitted before the end of the current month of February and exempt the requests that are submitted during the period From 1 March to 31 May this year, from fines by 50 percent, and exempt the requests made during the period from June 1 to July 31 of this year, from fines by 25 percent.

The department called on the taxpayers who have pending cases to take advantage of the Council of Ministers decision and to submit their requests to benefit from the exemption of all fines before the end of the current month of February.

The department explained that the taxpayer or his agent has the right to submit a request for settlement and installments to the aforementioned committee through the department's directorates and centers, or to submit electronically through the department's website.

The department added that the submission of settlement requests does not entail any fees or financial allowances, whether they were submitted by the taxpayer directly or through his agent, noting that after submitting the request, the personal review of the committee or any of its members is not required.
